Founded in 1849 by Auguste Jordan and Friedrich Deinhard, this historic estate was once under the stewardship of the famous Koblenz sparkling wine dynasty before entering a new era in 2007, when visionary entrepreneur Achim Niederberger took ownership. With major investments and a clear eye toward the future—while honoring tradition—the estate was transformed: the entire property was meticulously renovated, the elegant “Leopold” restaurant was established, and the surrounding park was redesigned into a place of beauty and hospitality.
Exclusively for BASF, the estate has crafted the Winning Red, a distinctive cuvée that blends Merlot, Cabernet Franc, and Syrah with the regional Lemberger. The wine offers a vibrant interplay of styles—somewhere between the Palatinate, Portugal, and France. On the nose, it reveals juicy forest fruits layered with delicate notes of pepper and fine dark chocolate. On the palate, lush fruit and spice are seamlessly balanced with the expressive influence of oak aging.
Rich and characterful, this red is the perfect companion for hearty meat dishes, making it a wine to savor both at the table and in memory.
