With great pride, BASF presents the premiere of the Neustadter Vogelsang—the first and only Große Gewächs (GG) site in Neustadt’s Kernstadt. The GG designation is reserved for Germany’s finest dry, single-varietal wines from top vineyards, carrying the same prestige as Burgundy’s grand cru.
In partnership with the esteemed Müller-Catoir estate, we proudly offer this exceptional Spätburgunder (Pinot Noir). While Riesling is often hailed as the king of white grapes, Spätburgunder—cultivated in Europe for more than 2,000 years—reigns as the queen among reds.
The wine reveals a refined bouquet of dark forest fruits, with notes of blackberry, black cherry, and currant. On the palate, its generous body is balanced by an elegant tannin structure, unfolding into a long, multi-layered finish. International acclaim underscores its excellence—renowned critic James Suckling has awarded this Spätburgunder an outstanding 96 points.
