Nestled in the northern Palatinate village of Asselheim, the Uli Metzger winery cultivates 19 hectares of vineyards on the region’s rich limestone soils. Alongside traditional grape varieties like Riesling and century-old Portugieser vines, Metzger also grows international classics such as Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and Tempranillo.
The winery gained instant recognition not only for its outstanding wine quality but also for its distinctive labels featuring a hand-drawn cow — a playful nod to the Metzger (“butcher”) name.
Carrying on this family tradition, Uli’s daughter Lea Metzger has introduced her own line of wines, blending creativity and heritage. Her vibrant Pink Rosé made from Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon embodies both the forward spirit and enduring legacy of the Metzger estate. A juicy, refreshing rosé with red fruit notes and beautiful harmony.
