The BASF exclusive Louis XVI Bordeaux is crafted by the young and exceptionally talented winemaker Thomas Hervé, owner of Château Moulin Haut-Laroque, Château Hervé Laroque, and Château La Communion. In the traditional Bordeaux wine world, Hervé is recognized as one of its rising stars, celebrated for his precision, elegance, and dedication to excellence.
The name Louis XVI pays tribute to the estate’s former owners, Louis and Antoinette Seize (“Seize” meaning sixteen in French), connecting this modern wine to its historic roots. Selected exclusively by BASF, the cuvée is a refined blend of 95% Merlot and 5% Cabernet Sauvignon, showcasing the velvety, smooth tannins.
Already approachable and delightful today, this Bordeaux also has excellent aging potential, promising five to ten more years of evolution in the bottle—a perfect choice for collectors and wine lovers seeking elegance, richness, and heritage in every sip.
