Château Moulin Haut Laroque is a 17th-century estate perched on the picturesque hillside terroir of Saillans in Bordeaux’s Fronsac region. Situated near the renowned appellations of Saint-Émilion and Pomerol, Fronsac was once highly prized, though over time it has become something of a hidden treasure. Today, wine enthusiasts are rediscovering the region for its exceptional value: Fronsac wines are complex, rich, and ripe, offering remarkable quality at accessible prices. They are enjoyable young while also rewarding careful cellaring.
Our BASF exclusive, Le Menhir, is crafted by the acclaimed winemaker Thomas Hervé. Calling him merely “talented” hardly does justice to his work—through dedication and skill, he has earned international recognition and top ratings across numerous wine publications. For this special cuvée, Hervé selected 100% Merlot, giving the wine a velvety, rounded structure. Ready to enjoy now yet built to age gracefully, Le Menhir pairs beautifully with braised or grilled meats, roasted chicken with mushrooms, or a truffle risotto.
